To you, the good people of the parish, your attendance and participation in the ceremonies helped to make this a truly Holy Week and Easter.

SHARELIFE CHALLENGE

A donor has challenged parishioners, schools, employee groups and corporate supporters to match up to $650,000 in new and increased contributions to the 2012 ShareLife Campaign. Should we realize the maximum potential of this effort, over one million new dollars would be raised for the work of our agencies. At a time when our social service agencies are reporting increased demands for their services, these new funds would help to introduce new programs and reduce waiting times for services for the marginalized in our communities.

WORKING WONDERS IN OUR LIVELIHOODS

“The services provided by ShareLife agencies are critical to those who rely on them – they are lifesaving and life-restoring. Families are working through crises and are healing. People with developmental challenges are supported as they experience a sense of self-worth and fulfillment in their daily activities. Refugees and new Canadians are guided toward a stable, productive livelihood in their newfound home. Seniors are living independently, with access to the care and services they need. Sometimes the results are obvious and sometimes they’re invisible but, always, they’re tangible.“

URGENT NEED

A father of two, a recent kidney recipient, suffering from polycystic disease, urgently seeks a living donor for a liver transplant. Doctors estimate his cyst-covered liver now weighs 30 pounds. The situation is grave and he must find a living donor as soon as possible.

Anyone, aged 18 to 60 years with blood type compatible with B group who donates, would have liver re-growth within 6 weeks. Their generous life–giving gift would give this young man a chance for a healthier and longer life.

For general information about liver transplant please contact:
