At this year’s Easter Vigil, fourteen adults and six school-aged children were baptized. Two other adults were received into the Church; and a total of nineteen were confirmed. The parish community wishes to extend to all of them a warm welcome.
This year the National Catholic Mission was taped here at St Gabriel’s on the evenings of March 7 and 8. Many of our parishioners came out for the occasion, and had a wonderful experience. It will be aired on Vision TV on Monday, March 29 and March 30 (Tuesday) at 9:00 PM, and repeated at 11:00 PM.
In the afternoon of February 28, hundreds of parishioners gathered to join in our annual celebration of the Lunar New Year with fun and lots of food.
Thomas Berry, the Passionist cultural historian and geologian, whose insights on humans, the Earth, and the universe have led to significant shifts in the way many of us look at our relationship with the earth and our environment, passed away June 1st, 2009 at the age of 94. Bring Back the Sun, a winter solstice celebration and memorial of the life of Thomas Berry was held on Dec 21 at St Gabriel’s. These pictures will allow us to catch a glimpse of the event.
