Fr. Paul Cusack
Pastor
Fr. Paul was born and educated in Saint John, New Brunswick. He entered the Passionist Seminary in 1949, took his vows as a Passionist in 1952, and was ordained to the priesthood in 1959. His first pastoral assignment was to St. Gabriel’s Parish in 1960. He served as Religious Superior in Sudbury, Ontario, and at St. Gabriel’s Monastery, as well as being the Assistant Pastor and Pastor of St. Gabriel’s. He has been a member of the Priest’s Council for the Archdiocese several times. In 1990, he received a Doctorate of Ministry from St. Michael’s College, University of Toronto. On occasion, he plays a game of golf.
Marie Gennaro
Administrator
Born and raised in Toronto. Married to Michael Gennaro by Fr. Paul in 1972. Michael is the son of Joseph Gennaro, who was a long-time parishioner and very active at St. Gabe’s. She has 4 children: Jason, Stephen, Michael, and Michelle. To date, there are 4 beautiful grandsons and 2 grandaughters: Noah, Matthew, Mark, James, Elise, and Lily. She currently resides in Good Shepherd Parish. She has been involved as a Eucharistic Minister and helped out with Marriage and Baptism Preparation as well. Owned and operated her own business for 15 years. Prior to that she worked as a teaching assistant in a nursery school. More recently she was the secretary/bookeeper for Camp Ekon – a Jesuit camp in Muskoka. Started at St. Gabe’s in September 2005.
Mary Landry
Coordinator of Adult Faith Development
Mary is married with six adult children. She is a former school teacher, who graduated from the Toronto School of Theology with a Master of Divinity and a Master of Theology degree. She has worked at St. Gabriel’s for 24 years.
Fatima Lee
Adult Education and Pastoral Care
Fatima Lee pursued theological studies at the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium, in the 1970s and received her S.T.B. Since then, her academic journey has included a Master of Education from Harvard University as well as a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Toronto. Her experience is in teaching as well as in policy and administration, but she has always set her heart on pastoral ministry. At St. Gabriel’s, she is involved with adult education. And because of her own immigrant background, she is also tasked with the welcoming of new immigrants in our parish community.
Marilyn Burke
Secretary
Marilyn is a retired primary teacher from the Toronto Catholic District School Board. She taught at St. Margaret School for 37 years. She lives in Thornhill with her husband Fred. They have 2 grown daughters, Dawn and Laurie. She has been a lector at St. Gabriel’s for many years and is
responsible for the preparation classes for the sacrament of Baptism. She also helps with the decoration of the Church, especially at Christmas and Easter.
Patrick Burrell
Custodian
Patrick is married. He has worked at St. Gabriel’s for more than 20 years. In the past, he has assisted with the RCIA program and marriage preparation courses.
Founded by St. Paul of the Cross, every Passionist takes a special vow to spend his or her energies in promoting remembrance of the sufferings of Jesus, the memory of the Cross, and reflection of the meaning of the Cross for the world.
