World Day of Prayer for Vocations will be observed this Sunday, May 8th. Please pray for our priests living and deceased. Pray also that young men and women hear and respond generously to the Lord’s call to the priesthood, diaconate, religious life, societies of apostolic life or secular institutes.

Lord, with the gift of courage, we can do all manner of things in service of you and our fellow men and women. Help us listen to the voice of your Son, Jesus, and so discover the truth about you.

With your grace, gift your Church with young men and women who are ready and eager to be living witnesses of your saving love and true servants of their sisters and brothers. Help them to discover in priesthood and consecrated life your call to love and service, and the fullness of life you promise. We ask this in your name, Jesus. Amen

By contributing to the Pope’s Pastoral Works, the faithful of Canada give a universal dimension to their charity and display Christ’s love and compassion for people in desperate need. Please give generously.

We are pleased to report that our team of 21 volunteers is getting ready to welcome a family from the Ukraine.

We are in the very early stages of this sponsorship and as yet we do not know how or when we will be matched with a family in need. Our Sponsorship is the through the Office of Refugees Archdiocese of Toronto (ORAT) and they have a team in Poland speaking to Ukrainian families about resettlement in Canada.

We will of course keep the Parish informed of developments as they happen. Thank you for your continued support of this important work.

If you are planning to be a teacher, it is important for you to know that to be hired to teach in any Catholic school board in Ontario, there must be a letter of reference from your pastor as part of your application.

The letter explaining that you belong to and participate in the community cannot be written if he does not know you. It is recommended that you have a conversation with your pastor early in the process well before the applications are to be submitted.
