who were baptized and received the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist.
We welcome them into our community and pray for God’s blessings for them as they begin their new life in Christ.
Our young adults would like to thank all who supported their Easter bake sale last Sunday. Over $3,000 was raised towards their attendance in the World Youth Day pilgrimage this summer. Thank you especially to the parishioners who donated baked goods.
Our young adults will be hosting another fundraiser in May for Mother’s Day. More details to follow. Wishing you all a blessed and holy Easter season!
Interview appointments for children who are registered and preparing to receive their First Communion are now available.
Interviews will begin next Tuesday, April 18th and continue until Wednesday, May 3rd. They are scheduled every 15 minutes from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday to Friday (except 3rd week, to Wednesday).

As previously announced, St. Gabriel’s Parish is moving forward with the process begun more than a year ago – discovering how we can further grow and live as a Passionist Parish. Sessions have been planned for parishioners. The first was March 25th.
If you were not able to attend the March 25th session, a second session is being held as follows:
You are invited to join fellow parishioners in a gathering on Saturday, April 29th at 10:00 AM in the Gabriel Room to further reflect on what it means to be a Passionist Parish.

The Archdiocesan Day of Prayer for Vocations is on Friday, May 5th, 2023. On this day, parishes throughout the archdiocese hold prayer initiatives dedicated to vocations.
This year we are inviting you to take a moment on this day to pray for two intentions: for an increase of vocations to the priesthood and religious life and for endurance in vocations already committed.
Your ShareLife gift changes lives.
Our second ShareLife Collection will be on April 30th. Among others, your contributions help people with disabilities and their family members. Your generous support enables our member agencies to provide them with the resources they need.
Thank you very much for supporting our parish’s ShareLife campaign. Thus far we have raised $27,634 toward our goal of $192,000. Please give at the parish using a ShareLife envelope, online through our parish website, or at sharelife.org/donate.
Thank you for your generous support of Rosalie Hall and the Good Shepherd Centre. They are very grateful.
Rosalie Hall, assists young parents and their children, offering prenatal supports including prenatal classes, nutrition and can help find a child care provider.
They can provide parenting classes, staff to help the transition to parenthood and a school program where young parents can finish high school and be close to their babies in the Early Learning Child Care Centre. The food we donate from our parish often replenishes their empty food bank.
Good Shepherd provides more than 800 hot meals each day. As housing costs soar, they provide affordable housing and assisted living supports to help seniors and other homeless to find their way back to secure housing and for some, a chance to start again through the Resettlement or DARE Programs.
Your food donations are very important as numbers of people in need continue to increase. Please check the expiry dates before donating since we cannot pass on food that has expired.
St. Mary of Egypt Refuge April 28th to April 30th
Hurt by abortion? Project Rachel is a ministry for women who have suffered the loss of a child from abortion. The hiddenness, the aloneness, and the grief are met by volunteers and God’s healing power. Our next weekend retreat is being offered at St. Mary of Egypt Refuge, April 28-30 – “Come away.”

St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica Friday, May 12th, 2023 from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM
A Prayer Vigil, for our soon-to-be priests is being held at St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica on Friday, May 12th, 2023 from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM.
There will be praise and worship, interspersed throughout the evening, communal prayers, such as the Rosary and a sung version of the Divine Mercy Chaplet.
