We pray for the реорlе of Ukraine today. We pray for реaсе and the laying down of weapons. We pray for аll those who fear for tomorrow, that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them. We pray for those with power over war or реасе, for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions. Above аll, we pray for аll your precious children, at-risk and in fear, that you would hold and protect them. We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Реасе. Amen.
Stations of the Cross will take place each Friday evening during Lent at 7:30 PM.
You are also encouraged to attend our daily Mass as often as possible throughout Lent.
Installation on Saturday March 25th at 10:00 AM
Pope Francis has appointed Bishop Francis (Frank) Leo, (pronounced Lay-o) currently Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Montreal, as the 14th Archbishop of Toronto.
The archbishop-designate succeeds Cardinal Thomas Collins, who has served the archdiocese since 2007. The new archbishop will be installed on the Solemnity of the Annunciation, Saturday March 25th at 10:00 AM at St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica.
During this time of transition in the archdiocese, we give thanks for Cardinal Collins and his service to the Church and welcome Archbishop-designate Leo, who will be joining the community very soon. Please continue to keep these shepherds close in prayer in the days ahead.
Saturday March 25th at 1:30 PM, Gabriel Room
As announced at all of the Masses last weekend, St. Gabriel’s Parish is moving forward with the process begun more than a year ago – discovering how we can further grow and live as a Passionist Parish.
You are invited to join fellow parishioners in a gathering on Saturday, March 25 at 1:30 p.m. in the Gabriel Room to further reflect on what it means to be a Passionist Parish. If you are unable to attend this first gathering, there is a second gathering scheduled for later in April (details to follow).
If you are interested in joining in either of these gatherings, or have questions, please reach out to either Rick Coles (richardcoleslaw@gmail.com) or Leanne Kloppenborg (kloppen@sympatico.ca), the Passionist Mission Co-Directors for this initiative appointed by the Passionist Provincial, Fr. Jim O’Shea.
Interview appointments for children who are registered and preparing to receive their First Communion will be available after the March Break.
Interviews will begin on Tuesday, April 18th and continue until Wednesday, May 3rd. They are scheduled every 15 minutes from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday to Friday (except 3rd week, to Wednesday).
Please call the Parish Office at 416-221-8866 to book your appointment with Fr. Paul Ruttle.
Your prepared frozen casseroles are being collected at the Masses next weekend, March 25th/26th for delivery to the Good Shepherd Centre.
Good Shepherd provides more than 240,000 meals a year to people who would otherwise go hungry. Please think about volunteering to help feed our less fortunate sisters and brothers. Three different recipes are available in the Parish Office or online at the Parish website. Casserole pans are also available in the Parish Office.
Your support is a tremendous help and is appreciated in the fight to end chronic homelessness. If you require more information, please contact Irene Albrecht at 416-221-2791.
Thank you for your generous support of Rosalie Hall and the Good Shepherd Centre. They are very grateful.
Rosalie Hall assists young parents and their children to realize their potential. The food we donate from our parish often replenishes their empty food bank.
Good Shepherd provides hot meals and shelter for the homeless in our city as well as a chance to start again through the Resettlement or DARE Programs.
Your food donations are very important as numbers of people in need continue to increase. Please check the expiry dates before donating since we cannot pass on food that has expired.
Saturday, March 25th from 9:15 AM to 11:45 AM

Once again, the CCCB video series Journey through Lent will be available on the CCCB website. This year’s Lenten reflections are delivered by His Eminence Gérald Cyprien Cardinal Lacroix, Archbishop of Quebec and Primate of Canada, and the Most Reverend Brian Joseph Dunn, Archbishop of Halifax-Yarmouth.
Every Monday throughout Lent, a video will continue to be posted on the CCCB website in English and in French for the following Sunday’s eucharistic celebration.
Originally proposed by the Executive Committee, this video series, featuring reflections on the gospel reading for each Sunday of Lent, is a joint project of the Office national de liturgie, the National Liturgy Office, and the Office for Evangelization and Catechesis (English Sector). It is hoped that this video series will provide you with additional opportunity to prepare for the Church’s celebration of the Resurrection of the Lord on Easter.
