A PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS

Lord, with the gift of courage, we can do all manner of things in service of you and our fellow men and women. Help us listen to the voice of your Son, Jesus, and so discover the truth about you.

With your grace, gift your Church with young men and women who are ready and eager to be living witnesses of your saving love and true servants of their sisters and brothers. Help them to discover in priesthood and consecrated life your call to love and service, and the fullness of life you promise. We ask this in your name, Jesus. Amen

PSALM MEDITATION

Baptism of the Lord, January 12, 2025

Psalm 104

In response to the power of chapter 40 of Isaiah, Psalm 104 sings of the greatness of God and of God’s control over creation; the wisdom, providence and creativity of God who renews the face of the earth.

The psalm’s opening verse provides our psalm refrain today: O bless the Lord, my soul! Let this praise of God be in our hearts this week and always.

A SILENT IGNATIAN RETREAT FOR MEN: Praying with Suffering

Friday, January 24, 2025 7:00 PM to Sunday, January 26, 2025 1:30 PM

Manresa Jesuit Spiritual Renewal Centre

A silent Ignatian Retreat for Men – Praying with Suffering. Suffering is something every human will have to encounter along their life journey. Some will carry big crosses and some small. Sometimes we are the ones who endure it and sometimes we knowingly or unknowingly will bring suffering to others. Suffering is meaningless, even inhumane by itself, but when we let the light of God shine upon it, everything changes. Facilitated by Fr. Henk van Meijel, SJ.

This silent weekend retreat begins on Friday evening and runs to Sunday, with lunch. The suggested offering is $260 per person which includes two nights’ accommodation with meals, spiritual direction and retreat program.

Contact Manresa Jesuit Spiritual Renewal Centre at manresaregistration@outlook.com, visit https://manresa-canada.ca or call 905-839-2864.
